Hope

As sustainability becomes a basic expectation, people want transparency over empty promises. The focus is shifting from more to better: designing for longevity, reuse and real impact. It champions repair over replacement, quality over quantity, and progress over perfection. Natural textures, visible craftsmanship and materials that age well bring authenticity to spaces. Technology can help, but lasting change comes from smarter choices and long-term thinking. For interiors, Hope creates warm, uplifting environments that support people and the planet.
“For a long time, sustainability has focused on quality – recycled materials, bio-based alternatives and better production processes. But quantity is still overwhelming quality. If we continue to consume more overall, then better materials alone will not be enough.”

Yorgos Chalkias – Head of Sustainability, Hempel Decorative

Colour proportions

The Hope palette reflects a growing shift towards sufficiency, regeneration and long-term thinking. Inspired by natural materials, craftsmanship and the value of doing less but doing it better, it celebrates authenticity over perfection and longevity over novelty. Muted greens, softened mauves, clay-inspired tones and mineral neutrals work together to create spaces that feel considered, restorative and connected to the world around them. A soft blue accent introduces freshness and perspective, while the warmer shades bring depth and familiarity. Together, the palette feels calm, enduring and quietly optimistic, with enough tonal variation to support both subtle layering and more defined moments of contrast.
